DIC@IIT Hyderabad Certification
A Design–Technology Studio Course aligned with IIT innovation thinking.
DIC @ IIT Hyderabad is a structured certification course where high school learners develop the mindset and methods used in modern innovation labs, human-centred discovery, systems thinking, disciplined ideation, prototyping, and executive-grade presentation. This is where curiosity becomes capability, and capability becomes direction.
Certification Details
A DIC–IIT aligned certification designed to signal early academic seriousness and intellectual maturity, awarded through evaluated outcomes, structured participation, and completion of studio requirements.
Certification is awarded on successful completion of all core modules, studio projects, and evaluative assessments.
Certification is awarded based on demonstrated reasoning, clarity of approach, and quality of outcomes, not attendance alone.
Portfolio-Grade outputs include documented artefacts that students can confidently showcase beyond the course.
The Studio Promise
It is a mentored studio course built to teach students how to think, frame, build, and communicate solutions with academic rigour and real-world relevance. Students don’t “learn about innovation.” They practice it with standards, feedback loops, and outcomes that can be showcased.
The Studio Method
Observe
Students learn to look beyond the obvious, understanding people, contexts, and constraints through empathy mapping, stakeholder thinking, and structured discovery. The focus is on asking better questions before proposing answers.
Model
Students translate complexity into clarity using systems thinking, mapping relationships, root causes, dependencies, and leverage points. This phase builds the ability to frame problems with precision.
Make
Students move from direction to delivery, rapid prototyping, experience flow mapping, and value proposition clarity. Ideas are refined through iteration cycles, critique, and proof-building.
The Course Journey
Progressive modules combining strategic thinking, business foundations, and AI-assisted decision workflows.
Phase 1
Foundation Studio
(Orientation + Method)
Students are inducted into studio culture and IIT-grade innovation thinking, learning the core toolkits: observation, problem framing, and systems mapping, that become the foundation for every decision they make throughout the course.
Phase 2
Challenge Studio
(Problem → Concept)
Students select a real-world challenge and convert it into a clear, evidence-backed opportunity by running structured ideation labs, generating concepts, clustering themes, testing feasibility, and choosing the strongest direction with a defensible rationale.
Phase 3
Build Studio
(Concept → Prototype)
Students translate their chosen concept into a tangible prototype by designing experience flows and user journeys, then iterating through rapid build cycles with critique-led refinement to reach a demonstration-ready solution.
Phase 4
Narrative Studio
(Prototype → Pitch)
Students craft an executive-grade story for their work by building a pitch narrative and deck architecture, strengthening presentation presence and Q&A readiness, and culminating in a jury-style evaluation that closes the course with formal certification.
